For the third consecutive year, the Inffinito Festival Circuit arrives in London with the Brazilian Film Festival, bringing a taste of the best of recent Brazilian cinema. Those will include some quiet new titles, which haven´t even opened commercially in the country.

This is the case of Man From the Future, by Cláudio Torres, which opens the festival, next Tuesday 6, at Bafta Academy. The film stars Wagner Moura and Alinne Moraes, and opens this weekend in Brazilian cinemas.

Until Saturday 10, Londoners can see some recent crowd pleasers, such as Head Over Heels, The Supreme Happiness and VIPs, all screened at the cosy Odeon Covent Garden cinema. As a lovely complement, short films will proceed the feature films, showcasing the high quality of the local production in this sector.

Directors and producers will also be part of Q&As after the screnings. Among them, Leonardo Monteiro de Barros (producer of Man From the Future), Toniko Melo (director of VIPs), Izabel Jaguaribe and Ernesto Baldan (directors of documentary Elza) and Malu de Martino (director of So Hard to Forget). Besides them, producer Paula Barreto will receive a WFTV (Women in Film and Television) tribute for her career, followed by the screening of Romeo and Juliet Get Married, her first production.

Pelo terceiro ano consecutivo, o Circuito Inffinito de Festivais desembarca em Londres, com o Brazilian Film Festival, trazendo filmes recentes da cinematografia brasileira. Alguns títulos bastante novos, que nem estrearam em circuito comercial por lá.

Até sábado, 10, o público londrino poderá conferir sucessos recentes como De Pernas Pro Ar, A Suprema Felicidade e VIPs, em exibições no charmoso cinema Odeon Covent Garden. Como um adorável complemento, curtas-metragens procederão os longas, ressaltando a alta qualidade da produção nacional neste setor.

Diretores e produtores convidados participarão de debates após os filmes. Dentre eles, Leonardo Monteiro de Barros (produtor de O Homem do Futuro), Toniko Melo (diretor de VIPs), Izabel Jaguaribe e Ernesto Baldan (diretores do documentário Elza) e Malu de Martino (diretora de Como Esquecer). The film also illustrates a time when the members led a communitarian style of life and its impact on their final work. The film features unique and rare archival materials of the best MPB music and cameos from Tom Zé, Rogério Duarte, Orlando Senna, Moraes Moreira, Pepeu Gomes, among others.

Born into a family of upper-middle class, Hirohito went to Boca just as a bohemian in search of sexual adventure, until a personal tragedy causes a change in your life. His father is viciously murdered and Hirohito is charged with the crime. Shortly thereafter, Hirohito buy two guns and moved to Boca, quickly becoming one of the most wanted criminals by the police.

The documentary explores her repertoire’s diversity and presents a series of encounters with renowned Brazilian artists such as Caetano Veloso, Jorge Ben Jor, Paulinho da Viola and Maria Bethânia.
